About Us

Small Town Roots, Honest Work

We started up in the midst of COVID-19 with a homemade hitch box, some tools and a jack. The idea was simple: shop-quality work without the shop prices.

Meet the Owner

Mackay Hall

Mackay graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor's in Advanced Vehicle Systems and is ASE certified. He performs all the mechanical work for the business himself — so the person who quotes your job is the same person who does it.

We come from small town roots. Both of us grew up in Marsing, Idaho, and that's where the way we do business comes from: upfront and honest with everything we do.

We saw a need to provide reliable work that rivals all the professional shops but without the big shop prices. We don't have the overhead of a shop so we can charge way less and save you some money. We don't cheap out on the parts and services though — we only offer professional work with high quality parts that is laid out for you to choose from.

How We Got Here

From a Hitch Box to a Shop

The Hitch Box

It started with a box built to slide into a hitch receiver, loaded with tools and a jack. That was the whole shop.

Fully Mobile

Word spread. The rig grew into a proper mobile workshop carrying professional parts and tools to every job.

A Rexburg Shop

We added a shop in the Rexburg area for the colder months — without ever giving up the mobile service that started it all.

Questions About Rusty Rotors

Mackay Hall — the owner. He performs all the mechanical work himself, so the person who quotes your job is the person who does it.

A Bachelor's degree in Advanced Vehicle Systems from BYU-Idaho, plus ASE certification.

During COVID-19. Mackay had the idea to build a box that he could slide into the hitch and go do some brake work — and it grew from there.

Mobile service is still the core of what we do, but we added a shop in the Rexburg area so cold-weather jobs have somewhere warm to happen.
